Radio Telescope simulations =========================== These are written in GNU Radio (http://gnuradio.org/), which is the software we use at the observatory to run the radio telescopes. GNU Radio can be installed using the links for your favourite operating system, at https://wiki.gnuradio.org/index.php/InstallingGR with a Windows 10 installer at http://www.gcndevelopment.com/gnuradio/downloads/installers/v1.7.0/gnuradio_3.8.1.0_win64.msi Once installed either click on the "GNUradio companion" icon (if there is one) or (in windows) type "gnuradio companion" in the start window. You can then open the file radio_telescope_simulator.grc copied from this directory. This should bring up a flow-diagram-like description of the simulator. To run it, click on the play triangle in the top bar, labeled "exicute the flow graph" if you hover over it. To get the exact appearance we use in the lectures go to "Tools|Set Default QT GUI Theme" and choose the gnuradio.qss theme supplied in this folder. Graham Woan 2020
